Job 27 v 2 – 9
My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let go. Job 27 v 6

Is it real?

It's often been said that a man is nothing more that what he is or does when the eyes of others aren’t around to see. We are all familiar with the story of Job, a man who was knew God but went through unbelievably hard times under persecution from Satan. Three of Jobs friends sought to council him, and the accusations began to fly that Job must have had some hidden sins in his life, thus being punished. Job quite rightly denied these accusations, but without going into the reasons for Jobs sufferings and the accusations of his friends, we want to look at how much value Job placed on living right before God.

Christianity is something very real. A personal faith in Jesus Christ is something very very real, and to an extent, can never really be fully appreciated or understood until experienced individually. Folks, if you profess the name of Christ, then how important is it to you to live upright before God? If your faith in Christ is real, this should be a very real desire of your heart. It was for Job.

The bible says in Proverbs 15 v 3 - 'The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good'. Job was aware of this same fact, when he declared in Job 31 v 4 – 'Doth not He see my ways, and count all my steps?'

These verses tell us that the Lord knows our thoughts, knows our actions, knows our ambitions, He knows it all. Your family, friends and Church often see only what you allow them to see, we can somewhat control how others will view us by allowing them to see through a window of our lives that we want them to see. God lifts of the roof…he sees the whole picture. How does that make us feel?

This fact was not lost on Job. For this reason he sought as far as possible to live upright before God, especially even when the eyes of others were not watching. Jobs says in ch 27 v 6 - 'My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let go'. Job viewed righteousness as something precious. It was something of massive value to him, and at all costs, he did not want to lose it.

Why? Just a few verses later, in v 8, Job declares – 'For what is the hope of the hypocrite though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?' Job knew that although others could be fooled, and he could even fool himself into thinking he could be right before God, he knew that God saw his every action, and in the end the truth would come out.

Christian, seek to live before God day and daily, remember that God is with you every day in life, and just because you can't physically see Him, makes no difference whatsoever…He’s still there, seeing 'both the evil and the good'.

Love God with all your heart. Live God in all your Life.
