Walk in Love

• Sacrificial Love

As we come to the scriptures we cannot hide from the fact that God is a God of love. See John 3:16.

We are to love others. Look at chapter 4 V25 – we are not to lie V26/27 – angry but sin not. If you do look what happens in v27 V28 – we are not to steal but we are to be givers. Are you a giver or a taker? V29 – do you love people through your speech? V31- V32 – We are to be kind, tenderhearted and forgiving. Christ is given as our example.

Are you kind, tender hearted and forgiving? Is it not true that we are so hard many times? We talk about tough love. Our heart has become hard because or tenderness has been rejected. People have just used us. How many times can I forgive them?

Read Luke 6:27-36

Matthew 18:21-22 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. Who said the Christian life was going to be easy?

• Separated Love v3

We are to be separate from sin. We are encouraged to be separate from the lusts of the flesh.
1. Fornication – Sexual Sin
2. Uncleanness – Physical or Moral uncleanness
3. Covetousness – Greed

These 3 things will destroy our walk of love

Read Eph 4:17-24

We need to be careful not just what we done but what we think.

Mat 5:27-28
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Look at 1 Thes 4:1-8

As it is wrong in the physical sense to commit sin it is also wrong in the spiritual sense.

Do we love God or do we love the world?

1 John 2:15-16
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

James 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Have you committed adultery against God? Do you love the world? Are you running after it? The world is anything that is against God or that takes you away from Him.

One example is the person who stays at home to watch sport instead of going to the prayer meeting.

We are called to love God – We should be separate from the world, the flesh and the devil Eph 5:7 - Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

Build - Eph 4:29
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers

– Pro 17:27-28 - He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit. Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
